SOME TIPS:
–reading many articles with a wide variety. Some topics could be architecture, history, math, art, music, politics, religion, language, science, space, human anatomy, psychology, ethics, amongst many others.
–listening to articles, music, or live news via a wide range of podcasts online in order to have a good listening ear, especially from different people around the world who use the English language daily.
–communicating: dialoguing (conversing) with other people in the English language is important. Talk with a family member for fun or just play the game called, “Who can speak English the fastest?”
–try Al, or your favorite robot! Ask a system engineer for some safe and free options that are best for you!
–practicing vocabulary definition in context is vital. Also, comprehending the sentence structure using the parts of speech (noun, verb, adjective, adverb, and more). The standardized test will ask you to infer, summarize, look for antonyms, or similarities, amongst others. A good way to practice is using the online Merriam Webster dictionary! There are games and quizzes in the dictionary. Explore your options by checking out the word of the day via a You Tube video.
But don’t forget to amplify anything that interests you visually by always clicking on the IMAGE button on your browser versus TRANSLATION. Why? You will remember much better the item when you can use your five senses as much as possible when wanting to reach your goal in learning a new language.
